Frequently Asked

How long does a commission take?

It depends on the type of piece and our current queue, but we’ll always give you an estimated timeline once your commission is confirmed. These are guides rather than guarantees, and we’ll keep you posted if anything shifts.

When and how do I pay?

Payment is made in full upfront via PayPal invoice, before we start work. If that doesn’t quite work for you, reach out before submitting your commission and we’ll see what we can arrange.

Do you charge VAT?

Clients based in Spain are subject to 21% VAT, added to the invoice. If you’re outside Spain, no VAT applies.

What if I need to cancel?

If it’s before we’ve started, you’ll get a full refund. If the sketch has already been approved, it’s a 50% refund. Once lineart has been approved, we’re no longer able to offer a refund, as most of the work is already done.

Can I use my commission for promotional or commercial purposes?

Every commission comes with a promotional licence, so you’re all set for social media, your author website, and book promotion. If you’d like to use the artwork commercially, for merchandise, print-on-demand, or products for sale, you’ll need to acquire the commercial license for an additional fee.

Will my commission be posted publicly?

We love showing off our work, so unless you ask us not to, we may feature your piece in our portfolio or on social media. If you’d rather keep it under wraps until your book or project is announced, just tell us in writing before we start, along with a date from which we’re free to share it.

What files will I receive, and how?

For standard commissions, you’ll get two PNGs; one with your character cut out on a transparent background and another with the character and the background. For book covers, you’ll get both PNG and PSD files. Everything is sent through Google Drive, and we keep your files on file for at least a month after delivery. After that, hang onto your own copies just in case.

Can I request a rush commission?

Yes, if you need it sooner than our usual turnaround, we can prioritise your piece for a +50% rush fee, depending on availability.

Do you take on international clients?

Absolutely, most of our clients are based outside Spain. We just ask for some basic details (your name, address, and a form of ID like a passport or driver’s licence) to issue a valid invoice, as required by Spanish tax law.

Is my personal information kept private?

Yes. The details we ask for (your legal name, billing address, and ID) are required by Spanish tax law to issue a valid invoice. We only use this information for invoicing, and we never share it beyond what the law requires.

How do I get on the waitlist?

We open the commission waitlist twice a year, to plan out each upcoming half of the year. We’ll announce it on social media a few days in advance, and it stays open for two weeks, so keep an eye on our socials if you’d like to grab a spot. If you miss that, you can also send us an email and we’ll let you know if there is any spot available.

Will you draw anything I ask for?

We reserve the right to choose which commissions we take on. There are certain subjects and content types we don’t draw, and we may also decline a project if it simply isn’t the right fit for us or our current queue. If you’re unsure whether your idea is something we’d take on, feel free to ask before submitting your commission.

Do you use AI?

No. We do not use AI at any point in our process, and every piece is hand-drawn by us from start to finish. We also don’t take on commissions from authors or companies that use AI-generated work.

Do I need to agree to your Terms of Service to commission you?

Yes. Submitting a commission means you’ve read and agreed to our Terms of Service, which cover things like payment, revisions, cancellations, and usage rights. You can find the full version linked here.

What happens if I open a PayPal dispute or chargeback?

If a chargeback or payment dispute is filed while your commission is in progress or after files have been delivered, the commission will be cancelled and any delivered files forfeited. If something feels off with your invoice or payment, please reach out to us directly first, we’re always happy to sort it out.
